This Is Our Story

pates_togetherAlthough I was called at 13 years old, I did not fully accept the life of being obedient to JESUS CHRIST, being led by HIS HOLY SPIRIT and loving GOD’S people, until I was 25 and at the end of my road.  It was the hug of an elderly woman on a retreat that brought me back from a life of bondage.  She inspired me to write the poem for my own mother (who had cried many a night in prayer). On that day, I decided that I had to serve GOD full-time.

My ministry started in a used car lot shack on Scenic Highway where I would preach to 50 empty chairs.  I started the first 24 hour prayer line.  Then one day, after a tragic car accident GOD resurrected a dead man across the street from the shack after I prayed, I knew GOD had anointed me. From that point on, I received support from Daddy Sullivan and Roy Stockstill. This led to the first church on Oswego Street which grew so fast that we neglected to put a sign on the front.

Then we moved to Tecemseh Street, a 2 ½ city block compound that housed CPM Christian Academy (renamed Vision City Academy to accommodate high school grades), WNDC 910.AM radio station and a 1500 seat sancdtuary.  We employed 125 people with 600 volunteers.  Noon day services were held on weekdays for over 15 years.  There were many revivals and many ministries.

The term “Full-Gospel” comes from the apostle Paul in Romans 13:19, “I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ”. A “Full Gospel Christian” believes that the Holy Spirit is still doing everything He was doing in the New Testament Gospels: He is still healing, giving the gift of tongues, performing miracles, etc. Since Jesus is “the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8), We believe He is operating the same as he was than. We believe in everything in the word.

We are a nondenominational full-gospel family oriented church that builds families for the KINGDOM of GOD!
